Tony Franklin is a Fretless Bass Monster

In 1973, there was this incredible foundation established by George Harrison (of The Beatles fame) called the Material World Foundation. Recently, the Material World Foundation donated $500,000 to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund, Save the Children, and Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) charities, which are providing much-needed aid and care during this COVID-19 pandemic.

So, where does Tony Franklin fit into this? Well, the Material World Foundation created THE INNER LIGHT CHALLENGE, where they will donate another $1 (up to $100,000) for every one of you who shares their own “Inner Light” moment on social media using the hashtag #innerlight2020. I became aware of this challenge through Tony’s perfect fretless rendition of The Beatles song The Inner Light.

Here is The Beatles version.

Here is Dhani Harrison‘s (son of George) sweet rendition.

If you want to rock out, checkout this live cover by The Grip Weeds.

So, I highly suggest that you participate in THE INNER LIGHT CHALLENGE!

TONY FRANKLIN…

I first became aware of Tony when he was with The Firm.

But, what really caught my attention was his (KILLER!) work with Blue Murder.

So, if you were unaware of Tony’s fantastic fretless bass work prior to this post, you owe it to yourself to dig deep down into the FRETLESS MONSTER rabbit hole!

Rock on!

Joe
