A thank you from John Patitucci

No one has inspired me to play the six string (fretted) electric bass more so than John Patitucci. I remember living on Hollywood Boulevard (Hollywood, CA) in 1987 when John released his first solo album (“John Patitucci”). I was completely blown away by his style (command of the instrument, note selection, tone, vibe, etc…) and knew that I needed to look further into this extended range instrument. 14 solo albums (not to mention all of his work with many, many others) later, John is still a huge inspiration.

In October 2014, I noticed that a documentary was in the works titled “Back in Brooklyn” in support of a new album that John was about to record. Due to the funding required, the documentary was tied to a Kickstarter campaign. I decided to roll up my sleeves and put my digital marketing skills to use since I felt that this opportunity needed to become a reality. At the end, 239 backers pledged $33,816 to help bring this project to life.

To my surprise, here is John’s note to me for my efforts!
